Osasuna sacks coach Alessio Lisci, eyes former Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil
Spanish La Liga club Osasuna announced on Monday the termination of Italian coach Alessio Lisci, whose contract ran until 2027. The club cited a poor season that saw 18 defeats, points stalled at 42 and a series of winless games that left the team hovering near relegation. Osasuna thanked Lisci for his “dedication, effort and commitment” and also praised his staff.
The club said it will now pursue Imanol Alguacil, the former Real Sociedad manager who most recently worked with Al‑Shabab in Saudi Arabia, as a potential replacement. Osasuna indicated that other candidates are also being considered and that a decision will be made in the coming days.
The dismissal follows a narrow escape from the relegation zone after a late-season rescue at Getafe, marking the fourth coaching change for the Navarrese side in four years.
