Ryan Garcia challenges Floyd Mayweather to professional bout

Ryan Garcia has publicly challenged retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather to a sanctioned professional bout. Garcia explicitly rejected the idea of an exhibition match, stating on social media that he wants Mayweather’s undefeated 50-0 record on the line. This follows reports that the two camps have engaged in discussions, though no official agreement or date has been set.

Separately, a dispute has emerged between promoter Oscar De La Hoya and UFC CEO Dana White regarding the Ryan Garcia vs. Conor Benn fight. De La Hoya claimed he skipped the event to avoid being ‘embarrassed’ or set up by White’s Zuffa Boxing. White denied these allegations, acknowledging a mutual dislike for De La Hoya but insisting he would never intentionally mistreat a guest at a major event.

In other boxing news, Shawn Porter expressed his view on a potential matchup between Garcia and Teofimo Lopez, naming Garcia a slight favorite in a hypothetical unification bout.
