Oscar de la Renta launches Alibi Eau de Toilette featuring pear blossom note

Oscar de la Renta has introduced Alibi Eau de Toilette, a citrus‑floral fragrance that highlights the rare scent of pear blossom. The perfume blends notes of bergamot, mandarin, and a synthetic accord that evokes the delicate white flowers of the Pyrus communis tree, a species native from Europe to northern Iraq. Created in 2022 by perfumer Catherine Selig, the scent aims to bridge fresh citrus with airy floral tones, offering a clean and intimate trail.

The formulation does not use actual pear blossom extracts; instead, it relies on a crafted blend of green and fruity materials to mimic the fleeting aroma of the tree before fruiting. Alibi reflects Oscar de la Renta’s shift toward transparent, modern fragrance language while retaining the brand’s heritage of elegance.
