Oscar D'León praises Gisela Valcárcel during Lima Salsa Festival appearance
Venezuelan salsa star Oscar D'León visited Lima for the Salsa Lima Festival 2026 and used the occasion to commend Peruvian TV presenter Gisela Valcárcel. He described her as “one of the most beautiful women in Peru, a reference of Peruvian art,” recalling the friendship they shared in the 1990s.
During his media interview, D'León also voiced concern over the crisis in his native Venezuela, saying he cannot return because the country's airport runway is destroyed and sending solidarity to his compatriots. The festival lineup features international salsa artists such as Víctor Manuelle, Jerry Rivera, La India, Tito Nieves, Andy Montañez and Maelo Ruiz, positioning the event as a major gathering for salsa fans in Peru.
