Oscar Onley battles illness during Vuelta a España stage seven

During the seventh stage of the Vuelta a España, white jersey wearer Oscar Onley struggled due to the lingering effects of an illness contracted during the fourth stage. Despite feeling unable to give his full effort in the final climb, the Netcompany INEOS rider finished fifth among the general classification contenders.

Onley has moved up to sixth place in the general classification, sitting 1 minute and 16 seconds behind third-place rider Primoz Roglic. While the stage was characterized by a chaotic breakaway led by Andreas Leknessund and Wout van Aert, Onley noted that the constant pedaling required throughout the day was particularly taxing given his physical condition.
