Oscar Piastri says McLaren's F1 car remains hard to read ahead of British Grand Prix

Oscar Piastri said McLaren's 2026 Formula One car is still difficult to read, with the performance hierarchy constantly shifting among the top three teams. He noted that Mercedes remains ahead, while Ferrari and Red Bull have introduced major upgrades, leaving McLaren lagging due to reliability issues and delayed development, though the team still hopes to fight for podiums.

During the Silverstone British Grand Prix weekend, Piastri qualified seventh in the Sprint Qualifying after a practice spin and very narrow time gaps to the leaders. He described the result as expected, emphasized that the team is not discouraged, and said they will analyse the data overnight to improve for the main qualifying session and the race.
