Oscar Piastri seeks to maximize McLaren's performance

McLaren Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri is working to better adapt his driving style to the current car, noting that progress is “not linear.” While the car possesses speed, Piastri has found it difficult to consistently extract maximum performance during race weekends.

Piastri highlighted the challenge of balancing experimentation with competitive results, explaining that finding time to test new approaches is difficult when the primary goal is to score points. He noted that while some technical approaches work, others do not, but emphasized that the team is not standing still.

To support this development, McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella has announced that additional engineering resources will be focused on Piastri’s situation. Piastri expressed that he feels well-supported by the team as they attempt to find concrete solutions within the limited time available during Grand Prix weekends.
