Oscar Tunjo takes pole at Road America for IMSA season finale

Oscar Tunjo secured the pole position for the IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge season finale at Road America. Driving the No. 1 Gebhardt Motorsport entry, the Colombian driver set a best lap time of 1:58.819 on the 4.048-mile course, leading the field by 1.630 seconds.

This marks Tunjo’s third pole position in as many rounds of the competition. The Gebhardt team enters the final two-hour endurance race at the top of the points standings, holding a 30-point lead over the No. 77 Forte Racing team and a 40-point lead over the No. 30 Toney Ligier entry.

Lincoln Day qualified second in the No. 95 Toney Driver Development Ligier, followed by Ari Balogh in the No. 30 Toney Ligier in third. The upcoming race will require teams to manage two mandatory pit stops and a mid-race driver change.
