Oschersleben schools closed following armed attack threat

Several schools and daycare centers in Oschersleben, Saxony-Anhalt, were closed on Tuesday following an armed attack threat sent via a WhatsApp parent group. The message, which reportedly cited religious reasons, included the threat, “I will shoot you all.”

While the police currently do not consider the threat to be credible, authorities decided to close the institutions as a precautionary measure following police recommendations. Some schools transitioned to distance learning and provided emergency childcare. Affected institutions include the Disterveg primary school, the Pushkin school, and a local gymnasium.

Police have increased their presence near educational facilities to ensure safety while investigating the origin of the message. Authorities expect schools to resume regular operations on Wednesday.
