OSE postpones bill deadlines for flood-affected evacuees
OSE has announced a 60-day postponement for bill due dates for users who have been evacuated or have self-evacuated due to flooding across various parts of the country. This measure aims to provide economic relief to families forced to abandon their homes because of rising waters.
The decision is part of a broader contingency plan implemented by the organization to address the impacts of the El Niño meteorological phenomenon. The benefit applies to both individuals evacuated through operations coordinated by the National Emergency System (Sinae) and local authorities, as well as those who relocated on their own.
Additionally, OSE has recently formed an Emergency Committee to strengthen coordination and response capabilities. The organization stated it will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with other agencies involved in the emergency response.
