Osečany Castle to host fairy tale theater performance

The Osečany Castle will host a theatrical performance of Jan Váchal’s fairy tale, ‘Jak provdat princeznu’ (How to Marry a Princess), on August 22, 2026. The production will be performed by the Nechvalice amateur theater group.

Matěj Stropnický, the owner of the castle, moved to the property in 2018 alongside Daniel Krejčík to lead a restoration project titled ‘Zámek bude!’ (The Castle Will Be!). Since their arrival, they have repaired the roof, the classicist frame, and several rooms, while also working to restore the seven-hectare park surrounding the historic site.
