OSEF to implement stricter audits for home care services

The Obra Social del Estado Fueguino (OSEF) has announced new oversight measures for home hospitalization services following the detection of deficiencies in previous audits. The organization will implement surprise audits and a shared auditing scheme to verify that authorized medical services are being effectively provided.

OSEF President Gustavo García emphasized that private providers must strictly adhere to the hours of care financed by the institution. He noted that if 12 hours of home care are paid for, the provider must ensure the caregiver is present for the full duration rather than reducing the service to four or six hours. The new measures aim to protect beneficiary rights, optimize resources, and ensure that the actual conditions of care match the authorized coverage.
