OSEPA and OUAT partner for agricultural vocational education in Odisha

The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) and the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a Dual Mode Vocational Education initiative. The program aims to provide school students with hands-on, field-based learning in agriculture and allied sectors.

Initially, the initiative will be implemented in 26 PM SHRI Government Secondary Schools across 20 districts in Odisha. Students in Classes IX and X will receive structured practical training and field visit opportunities. The curriculum covers six specific vocational areas selected based on local resources and agricultural potential, including paddy cultivation, mango cultivation, tomato and brinjal cultivation, animal health, dairy farming, and citrus fruit cultivation.

Under the agreement, the selected schools are formally linked with OUAT, Bhubaneswar, and designated Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) to facilitate experiential learning and skill development beyond the traditional classroom setting.
