O’Shaquie Foster signs Top Rank extension amid unification talks

Two-time super featherweight world champion O’Shaquie Foster has signed a multi-year contract extension with promotional company Top Rank. The agreement secures Foster’s championship trajectory ahead of his scheduled return to the ring this fall.

In related championship news, the WBO has approved a unification bout between Emanuel Navarrete and O’Shaquie Foster. The fight, which is expected to involve three belts, has been tentatively reported for October 24 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

As a condition of the WBO’s approval, the winner of the Navarrete-Foster unification match must face mandatory challenger Charly Suarez within 180 days. Navarrete currently holds the WBO and IBF titles, while Foster is the reigning WBC champion.
