Oshikatsu EXPO Autumn to showcase advanced fan culture technologies in Tokyo
The 6th Oshikatsu EXPO Autumn will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 7 to 9. The event showcases the latest trends in “Oshikatsu” (fan activities), moving beyond simple decoration to immersive experiences involving movement and sound.
This evolution aligns with the Japanese government’s “Entertainment and Creative Industry Strategy 2026,” which emphasizes “IP 360-degree expansion” to grow the overseas sales of Japanese content to 20 trillion yen by 2033. The expo features products such as digital moving badges, NFC-equipped charms, and WebAR systems that allow fans to hear character voices through smartphone recognition.
Exhibitors include companies demonstrating advanced fan merchandise, such as interactive digital badges and specialized stickers that transform into miniature scenes, reflecting the growing economic importance of the fan culture industry.
