Osijek and Bilje restore bus service after 15 years

Gradski prijevoz putnika (GPP) has reinstated bus services between Osijek and Bilje after a hiatus of more than 15 years. The new 22-kilometer route aims to improve connectivity for residents traveling for work, education, and healthcare.

From Monday to Saturday, buses will operate 19 times daily in both directions, with 11 departures scheduled for Sundays. The service is supported by the Osijek-Baranja County, which will subsidize individual passenger tickets by one euro.

Local officials, including Osijek Mayor Ivan Radić and Bilje Mayor Željko Cickaj, noted that the service will benefit hundreds of students, workers, and retirees while potentially reducing traffic congestion in Osijek by encouraging public transit use over private vehicles.
