Osijek-Baranja Regional Distribution Center reaches 100 percent capacity

The Regional Distribution Center (RDC) for fruit and vegetables in Osijek-Baranja County has reached 100 percent capacity in its fourth season of operation. The facility currently utilizes its full 2,910-ton refrigeration capacity to support local producers.

Osijek-Baranja County Prefect Nataša Tramišak visited the center to oversee operations and deliver a 100,000 euro contract to assist with the RDC's business operations. The county has allocated 340,000 euros in its current budget for the maintenance and operation of the center to ensure high-quality conditions for producers.

Future goals for the RDC include transitioning from a storage-only facility to a processing hub to add value to agricultural products. The center has already produced approximately 22,000 liters of apple juice this year. Investment plans focus on purchasing additional equipment for packaging and processing rather than new construction.
