Osijek initiatives launch humanitarian awards and film workshops

Osijek-Baranja County has issued a public call for nominations for the ‘Humanity Charter’ (Povelja humanosti). This public recognition is awarded to individuals and groups for humanitarian acts within the county, such as saving lives, blood donation, caring for the sick, or supporting vulnerable children. Proposals, which must include supporting documentation, can be submitted until September 30, 2026.

In a separate cultural initiative, the Filmska RUNDA short film festival is launching the ‘Hear a Story, See a Film!’ workshop in Osijek. The program invites residents to share personal anecdotes, urban legends, or historical local events to be developed into film concepts. Led by director and screenwriter Dalija Dozet, the workshop aims to help participants transform local narratives into five-minute film pitches.
