Osijek introduces first electric low-floor buses

Osijek has received its first four electric low-floor buses, marking a significant step toward modernizing the city's public transport system. The initial vehicles are MAN Lion's City 10 E models, each capable of carrying 84 passengers (31 seated and 52 standing) with a range of approximately 280 kilometers per charge.

These buses are part of a larger 16 million euro investment funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. A total of 19 electric buses are expected to be in service by November. The new fleet features zero exhaust emissions, reduced noise levels, and lower maintenance costs compared to traditional vehicles. Their low-floor design is intended to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities, parents with strollers, and children.

The bus procurement is part of a broader 116 million euro investment cycle in Osijek's infrastructure. This includes the deployment of 20 low-floor trams, 13 previously acquired buses, and extensive modernization of the tramway infrastructure. Additionally, the city is planning a new depot project estimated at 80 million euros.
