Balkan police conduct major operations against drugs and weapons

Law enforcement agencies across the Balkans have conducted several high-profile operations involving drugs, weapons, and financial crimes. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, a major incident occurred near Zenica when a driver, E. T., fled from police in a Volkswagen Touareg, discarding a large arsenal including 45 hand grenades, two M80 rocket launchers, and various mines. A second individual, M. A., was arrested in connection with the incident after police found a pistol and 25,000 KM in a vehicle.

In Montenegro, police arrested A. V. in Budva for possession of cocaine hidden in a lighter, alongside 53 narcotic tablets. Additionally, an Audi A3 sought by Interpol was seized at the Debeli Brijeg border crossing, and a driver was detained for using a forged Georgian license.

In Serbia, a 43-year-old man from Subotica was sentenced to two years in prison after being caught with 21 kg of pseudoephedrine tablets and cocaine in a Mercedes. Meanwhile, legal proceedings are set to begin in Negotinu for the murder of two-year-old Danke Ilić, with prosecutors seeking life sentences for the suspects.

In Slovenia, authorities intercepted a Citroen carrying nine Turkish citizens who had entered the country illegally using a forged Georgian driver's license. In Croatia, a driver on Korčula was arrested for driving under the influence of amphetamines with an expired license and fraudulent identification.
