Osijek to reintroduce paid parking in September

The city of Osijek is set to reintroduce parking fees starting in the first half of September. Following the expiration of a private concession on December 31, 2024, parking has been free in the city. The new system will be managed by the municipal company Gradski prijevoz putnika (GPP), ensuring that revenues remain within the city budget to fund traffic improvements and parking infrastructure.

The implementation will follow a phased approach. Charging will begin in the 'zero zone' and parts of the first zone in mid-September, expanding to the rest of the first zone by October 9, and the second zone by November 9.

Proposed rates are as follows: - Zero Zone: 1.50 EUR per hour, with a maximum stay of three hours. This zone covers the narrow city center, including the main market and the railway station area. - First Zone: 1.00 EUR per hour, with no time limit. This includes areas around the Osijek University Hospital (KBC). - Second Zone: 0.60 EUR per hour, with no time limit.

Parking will be charged Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 21:00, and Saturdays from 07:00 to 15:00. No fees will be collected on Sundays or public holidays. Payment methods will include parking machines, SMS, and mobile applications.
