Osimo celebrates historic 'Rivivi 700' reenactments and Covo festival
Osimo hosted the three‑day "Rivivi 700" historic reenactment from 6 to 8 August, featuring a baroque concert dedicated to Vivaldi’s Gloria RV 589, parades, sbandieratori, historical games, street performances and food stalls. The event was organised by the association "Gli alfieri della storia" together with the municipality and CNA.
On the same weekend the town’s Campocavallo district marked the Festa del Covo, a tradition dating back to 1840 that thanks the wheat harvest. A mass was celebrated by Archbishops Angelo Spina and Renato Boccardo, followed by the presentation of the "Spiga d’oro" 2026 to Senator Guido Castelli, the government commissioner for earthquake reconstruction. The celebration included folk groups, historic tractor displays and an exhibition of the Covo 2026 alongside previous editions.
Both events highlighted Osimo’s cultural heritage, drawing local residents and visitors to historic performances, religious ceremonies and community festivities.
