Osimo municipal council faces disputes over appointments and sports facility tender

The Osimo City Council held a heated session regarding the appointment of a minority representative to the board of directors of the Istituto Campana for Permanent Education. Following a ruling by the TAR Marche, the majority voted to reconfirm Liana Chiappa to the position. Opposition members, including representatives from Progetto Civico and FDI, contested the decision, accusing the administration of interpreting the court's ruling to suit its own interests and attempting to select a preferred opposition.

Separately, the TAR Marche has annulled the tender process for the construction of the new Palascherma sports complex and multidisciplinary gym in Osimo. The court ruled that a proposed improvement by the winning bidder, involving a 45-square-meter expansion, was inadmissible under the original tender terms.

Mayor Michela Glorio stated that the municipality will not appeal the ruling but will instead relaunch the tender with corrected specifications. The decision is expected to delay the project, which is significant for Osimo as it prepares for its designation as a European City of Sport in 2028.
