Osimo officials address vandalism and cinema repairs

The municipality of Osimo is addressing multiple issues regarding public property and infrastructure. Mayor Michela Glorio reported recent acts of vandalism at Piazzale Europa, where heavy benches were uprooted and walls were defaced. The Mayor noted that the scale of the damage suggests the involvement of a group rather than just a few youths. In response, the administration is seeking regional funding for a 45,000-euro project to expand the municipal video surveillance system with six new cameras.

Separately, the administration has announced that renovation work will soon begin at the former Cinema Concerto to address issues that have kept the facility closed. The building suffered damage from humidity following the September 2024 floods and previous construction irregularities. While Public Works Councilor Jacopo Angeletti stated that a project and contractor have been identified to make the auditorium usable, local opposition has raised questions regarding the total public funds spent on the structure and the reasons for its prolonged closure.
