Osiris de León to discuss seismic risks in San Francisco de Macorís

Natural disaster management expert Osiris de León will lead a conference titled ‘Seismic Risks: San Francisco de Macorís and Valle del Cibao’ on October 1, 2026. The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the William García Assembly Hall in the Municipal City Hall.

De León will discuss seismic activity specific to San Francisco de Macorís and the Cibao Valley, focusing on earthquake-related risks. The presentation aims to strengthen prevention, preparation, and response measures for individuals, families, and institutions.

The conference is organized by the Duarte Province Governorate, the San Francisco de Macorís Mayor's Office, the Fire Department, and the Senatorial Office. It is open to authorities, emergency relief organizations, professionals, students, and community representatives to promote a culture of prevention.
