Oslo Business Forum addresses energy risks and economic competitiveness
During the Oslo Business Forum, industry leaders and experts are addressing significant geopolitical and economic challenges. Christian Jomaas, head of Pareto Securities, has warned of a potential energy crisis driven by geopolitical instability, specifically citing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran. He noted that while oil and gas supplies have been partially buffered by drawing from global reserves, a prolonged conflict in the Middle East could deplete these stocks and lead to much higher prices.
In addition to energy concerns, the forum features discussions on the competitiveness of the European economy and the evolution of the Norwegian labor market. Panels include topics such as the impact of artificial intelligence on business processes, the balance between performance culture and the Norwegian employment model, and whether excessive regulation is hindering European technological advancement compared to the US and China.
