Oslo demonstration planned for October 7

A demonstration titled ‘Support the Palestinian resistance struggle!’ is scheduled to take place at Jernbanetorget in Oslo on October 7. The event is organized by a solidarity network involving several organizations, including Rød Ungdom, Oslo Sosialistisk Ungdom, the Anti-imperialist Federation, and FOR-Ungdom.

Marielle Leerand, leader of FOR, stated that the network recognizes the struggles of groups such as Hezbollah, Iran, and Hamas as legitimate resistance against Israel and the United States. The organizers have selected imagery from the October 7, 2023, attacks to accompany the demonstration. The event marks the anniversary of the massacres in Israel, and critics have raised concerns regarding the explicit support for groups designated as terrorist organizations by various international standards.
