Oslo hosts major running events with record marathon participation
Oslo is hosting major running events, including the 45th anniversary of the Oslo Maraton, which has seen record participation. This year, 29,100 runners are participating, surpassing last year's record of 25,090. The event includes various distances, with the largest group consisting of 12,793 half-marathon runners, 4,765 marathon runners, and 10,392 participants in the ‘10 for Grete’ race.
Additionally, the Nydalsløpet race, organized by Nydalens Skiklub, drew 500 participants through Nydalen and along the Akerselva river. In the 5km category, track and field athlete Filip Ingebrigtsen secured victory with a time of 14:29, finishing over a minute ahead of the runner-up. The Nydalsløpet event, sponsored by Avantor, has become a local tradition over its eleven-year history.
