Oslo tram derails after collision with taxi
A tram derailed following a heavy collision with a taxi in central Oslo on Friday night. The accident occurred near the National Museum at the intersection of Dokkeveien, Cort Adelers gate, and Munkedamsveien around 10:55 PM.
The collision involved a taxi carrying five people. Emergency services reported that six individuals sustained minor injuries and were sent to the hospital or emergency clinic. While all occupants of the taxi remained conscious, two required medical treatment on-site. Passengers on the tram reported a sudden, loud impact that caused them to be thrown forward, though no serious injuries have been reported among those on board the tram.
Police have secured video evidence from the scene and are conducting interviews to determine the cause of the crash. Ruter line 12 is currently being diverted via Nationaltheatret due to the incident, and officials have not yet confirmed when the intersection will reopen to traffic.
