Osman Can Baylar rescues injured crow in Bursa, Turkey

In the rural neighbourhood of Narlıca, Orhangazi district near Bursa, 28‑year‑old Osman Can Baylar found a wounded crow on the shore of İznik Lake in May. He brought the bird home, cared for it for three months and restored its health. Naming the crow “Ceksın”, Baylar released it back to the wild, but the bird repeatedly returned to his side, following him to markets, cafés and village gatherings. The persistent companionship turned the crow into a local mascot, delighting neighbours and becoming a symbol of the community’s bond with nature.

Baylar described the rescue, noting the bird was surrounded by ants when he first found it and that he consulted online resources to feed and raise it. After the crow learned to fly, each attempt to release it resulted in its swift return, prompting Baylar to keep the bird as a permanent companion.
