Bursa authorities destroy 6.5 tons of unsafe food products

Authorities in the Osmangazi district of Bursa have destroyed approximately 6,500 kilograms of food products following an inspection of an unlicensed warehouse in the Küçükbalıklı neighborhood. The operation was conducted by Osmangazi Municipality police teams in coordination with the Osmangazi District Agriculture Directorate.

During the inspection, officials discovered olives, olive oil, tomato paste, brined leaves, pickles, and dates being stored under unsanitary conditions. A significant portion of the products was found to be moldy. Additionally, the items lacked essential labeling, including expiration dates and business identification numbers.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the warehouse operator. The contaminated goods were loaded onto trucks by the Osmangazi Cleaning Affairs Directorate and subsequently destroyed to prevent the products from reaching consumers and threatening public health.
