Osmangazi municipality runs summer programs for children

The Osmangazi district of Bursa has organised a series of summer activities for children. Basic swimming courses are being held at the Fatih‑Çiftehavuzlar Semi‑Olympic pool and other local pools, teaching hundreds of youngsters water safety, confidence and teamwork. Municipal trainers such as Okan Aşık emphasised that “basic swimming education not only teaches swimming but also saves lives and supports physical development.”

At the same time, the district’s “Osmangazi in Summer Film Screenings” continue to bring open‑air cinema to neighbourhoods. A large screen was set up in Erhan Keleşoğlu Park, Başaran Mahallesi, where children and families watched the animated film *Efsane Takım Bilim Kahramanları*. Local muhtar İsmail Yılmazlar thanked Mayor Erkan Aydın for the event, and children described the experience as “very fun.”

These initiatives are part of the broader “summer festivals” programme that aims to keep children active, reduce screen time and foster community spirit throughout the district.
