Osmangazi Municipality implements social support and recycling programs

Osmangazi Municipality has expanded its social services and environmental initiatives within the district. Under the coordination of the Social Services Directorate, the municipality has delivered 178 wheelchairs to citizens in need across 136 neighborhoods. This program, which includes home delivery and assembly, aims to increase mobility for disabled individuals and support their caregivers.

In parallel, the municipality’s Climate Change and Zero Waste Directorate has reported significant progress in waste management. During the first nine months of 2026, the municipality collected and processed various types of waste to support a circular economy. Collected materials included 4,813 tons of packaging waste, over 128,000 kg of clothing, 127,483 kg of waste vegetable oil, and 22,153 kg of electronic waste, among other categories such as batteries, tires, and medical waste.
