Osmaniye begins corn harvest amid hail-related yield concerns

Corn harvesting has commenced in Osmaniye, which ranks as the seventh largest corn producer in Turkey. For the 2026 season, approximately 349,000 decares of corn have been planted, with an expected yield of nearly 400,000 tons.

Local producers report that while the general condition of the crop is satisfactory, hail experienced during the development period has caused a decrease in yields in certain areas. Farmers noted that intensive fertilization was required to help the crops recover from the hail damage.
