Osmaniye residents seek conversion of cemetery park into modern space

Residents of the Eyüp Sultan neighborhood in Osmaniye are calling for the transformation of a local area known as the “cemetery park” into a modern recreational space. While most graves in the area were relocated to another cemetery over time, approximately 20 graves and tombstones remain on the site.

Local citizens report that the area is already used by families and children for play and relaxation, but the presence of the remaining tombstones is a point of contention. Residents state that many of the remaining graves are empty and are requesting that the remaining markers be removed to allow for a more complete and modern park design.
