OSMEP BDS project generates over 1,000 million baht in economic value

The Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) has announced the success of its Business Development Service (BDS) project, which has generated a cumulative economic value exceeding 1,000 million baht. From 2022 to 2026, the program facilitated over 6,131 business development proposals, resulting in total subsidies of more than 332 million baht.

Dr. Panita Shinawatra, Acting Director of OSMEP, stated that the project utilizes a co-payment mechanism, where the government covers 50% to 80% of costs to help SMEs access essential business services. The network of Business Development Service Providers (BDSP) has expanded to 401 agencies, offering 1,464 different services across four key areas: productivity enhancement, business management, product quality and standards, and marketing and distribution.

In the current fiscal year, over 3,000 SMEs registered for the program, submitting 2,209 proposals for a total subsidy amount of 137.6 million baht. Marketing services, both domestic and international, remain the most requested, followed by product quality and standard development.
