Osorno housing projects begin for 560 families
Construction has begun on five new housing projects in the Francke sector of Osorno, Los Lagos Region, benefiting 560 families. This initiative is part of a larger macro-project designed to provide housing for a total of 969 families.
The project represents an investment of approximately 47 billion Chilean pesos by the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism. The developments, which include the Santa Norma, Vivir Mejor, Maranata, Todos por un Sueño Tres, and Las Rosas complexes, are funded through the DS49 Solidary Housing Choice Fund. Completion for these new homes is estimated between October and December 2027.
Mario Marchant, the regional secretary of Housing and Urbanism for Los Lagos, noted that the initiative aims to reactivate the economy and generate employment, contributing to an estimated 13,000 new jobs within the region.
