Lundin Mining and CONAF launch regional educational and environmental initiatives

Lundin Mining has launched the ARA (Atacama Red de Aprendizaje) educational program to support students and entrepreneurs in Tierra Amarilla, Copiapó, and Caldera. Running through 2030, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the labor market, addressing regional challenges such as chronic absenteeism and educational gaps in reading and mathematics.

In a separate environmental effort, professionals from Chile’s National Forest Corporation (CONAF) participated in an intensive monitoring workshop organized by the international NGO Acción Andina in Peru. The workshop focused on the conservation and restoration of high Andean forests, specifically targeting the monitoring of queñoa species and the use of technical tools like GPS for reforestation tracking. The initiative facilitates technical exchange between representatives from Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Argentina to improve ecosystem management in arid and high-altitude environments.
