Ospedale Oglio Po introduces Da Vinci surgical robot

Ospedale Oglio Po is implementing the Da Vinci surgical robot to advance minimally invasive surgery in the Casalmaggiore region. The system provides surgeons with high-resolution 3D vision and highly controlled instrument manipulation, aiming to increase precision, reduce patient trauma, and shorten recovery times.

The introduction of this technology is part of a broader infrastructure upgrade plan by Asst Cremona. The rollout will occur in phases, initially focusing on established robotic disciplines such as otorhinolaryngology, with future potential applications in neurosurgery and transsphenoidal pituitary surgery. Surgical staff have already begun specialized training to operate the new system.
