Ospreys return to St Helen’s for historic home match against Dragons
The Ospreys are set to play their first BKT URC match at their newly redeveloped home, St Helen’s, this Saturday against the Dragons. The move follows a joint investment agreement between the Ospreys and Swansea Council to transform the historic seafront venue, which previously hosted Wales international matches and county cricket.
Following a two-decade tenure at the Liberty Stadium and a recent period at Brewery Field, the club has seen a significant surge in interest, with season ticket sales more than doubling. The redevelopment includes a new west stand and will serve as a home for both the Ospreys and Swansea RFC, as well as a facility for community clubs.
Owen Watkin and Sam Parry will serve as co-captains for the inaugural fixture. The announced starting lineup includes Gareth Thomas at loosehead, Sam Parry at hooker, and Tom Botha in the front row, with Reuben Morgan-Williams at scrum half and Dan Edwards at fly-half.
