Ostellato food laboratory fined for hygiene violations

An inspection conducted by the Carabinieri and specialists from the NAS of Bologna in Ostellato has resulted in a 3,000 euro administrative fine for an artisanal food laboratory. Authorities identified hygienic-sanitary irregularities, noting that the premises were unsuitable for maintaining required standards. Additionally, the business failed to correctly implement the HACCP self-control manual, which is the mandatory system for managing food safety risks.

The food safety check was part of a broader territorial control operation carried out by the Portomaggiore Carabinieri company in the municipalities of Ostellato and Fiscaglia. This wider operation, which included collaboration with the Portomaggiore Forestry Nucleus, covered various areas including public safety, narcotics, traffic laws, immigration, and environmental protection. The broader sweep resulted in several other legal actions, including reports for identity theft, illegal entry, and possession of stolen property.
