Osterode historical building undergoes renovation

The historic building complex formerly known as the ‘Grüner Jäger’ hotel and restaurant in Osterode is undergoing significant renovation to be converted into residential apartments. The project, overseen by the ‘Fachwerk5Eck’ team, includes the restoration of the historic timber-framed structures originally built in 1889 in the historicism style.

Work completed so far includes the renovation of the street-facing and rear facades, which involved installing 64 new windows and repairing masonry. The owner has also addressed structural issues by removing a dilapidated extension of the former restaurant. Interior improvements are currently underway, including the installation of new heating systems, new piping, and internal insulation to improve energy efficiency.
