Ostra inaugurates new Andrea Menchetti secondary school

The new 'Andrea Menchetti' lower secondary school has been inaugurated in Ostra, marking the completion of a major infrastructure project aimed at addressing seismic vulnerability. Mayor Federica Fanesi stated that the decision to build a new complex rather than renovate the existing structure was necessary due to the building's significant seismic fragility.

The project was funded through the 'Sisma 120' program, with a contribution of 3 million euros. The Mayor noted that the allocation of funds was delayed by approximately two years due to the integration of government funding into the PNRR framework, which also increased administrative and bureaucratic requirements.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by civil, military, and religious authorities, including the President of the Marche Region, Francesco Acquaroli. While the event celebrated the delivery of a modern facility to the community, local civic group 'Impegno per Ostra' criticized the administration for failing to acknowledge the previous administrations that initiated the necessary procedures and for the rushed conditions under which the final construction work was completed.
