Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava adds winter flights to Kenya and Egypt

Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava is expanding its winter flight offerings through a partnership with the travel agency Čedok and airline Smartwings. A new direct connection to Mombasa, Kenya, will launch on December 18, 2026, and run through January 29, 2027. The service will consist of six weekly rotations with departures every Friday, offering seven or fourteen-night stays.

The flights to Mombasa will utilize a Boeing aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers, including a premium cabin. The route is expected to take approximately 10 hours and 25 minutes, featuring a 50-minute stopover in Hurghada, Egypt. Destinations in Kenya include Diani Beach, Watamu, and areas north of Mombasa.

Additionally, the airport is extending its service to Marsa Alam, Egypt, to cover the winter months. Scheduled flights to Marsa Alam will run from October 30 to December 11, 2026, and from February 5 to April 30, 2027, totaling eighteen weekly rotations.
