Ostrava implements security and revitalization measures for All Souls' Day
In preparation for All Souls' Day, authorities in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic are implementing enhanced security and traffic measures. Police will increase surveillance of road safety, particularly near cemeteries and on access roads, to protect the high volume of pedestrians and cyclists expected during the holiday. Officers will also monitor cemeteries and parking lots to prevent thefts of personal belongings.
Simultaneously, the city of Ostrava is continuing its long-term revitalization of local cemeteries. The city has allocated significant funding for these improvements, including 41 million CZK this year compared to 35 million CZK last year. These investments support the renovation of walkways, furniture, fencing, greenery, and buildings such as mortuaries and restrooms across various districts, including Poruba and Mariánské Hory.
