Ostrava's Poruba Street Festival attracts artists from 20 nations
The 15th edition of the Festival v ulicích (Street Festival) was held on 21–22 June 2025 in the Poruba district of Ostrava, Czech Republic. Organized by Petra Hradilová, the two‑day event featured stages on Alšovo náměstí, Hlavní třída, the area around the Floridy roundabout and other city sites.
The programme showcased more than thirty acts from countries including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Estonia, France, Ghana, Japan, Norway, Poland, Slovakia and Greece. Highlights featured Japanese performer SYO!, the French Soul Project, Burkinian Kanazoé Orkestra and a Norwegian surf‑funk group.
A centerpiece of the opening day was the giant dragon puppet “Josephine”, which attracted large crowds despite temperatures above 30 °C. Visitors also enjoyed a wine festival with Znojmo wines and a wide street‑food offering ranging from langoš to Greek and Italian specialties, churros and various beverages.
The festival ran alongside the Czech Music Crossroads showcase, turning Ostrava into a meeting point for musicians, street artists and cultural professionals from around the world.
