Ostrołęka City Hall ceiling collapse damages Vice President's office
A large section of the ceiling collapsed in the office of the Vice President of Ostrołęka within the city hall. The debris fell onto furniture, including a desk and a sofa, but the incident occurred outside of official working hours, and no injuries were reported.
City officials stated that the building has suffered from poor technical condition for years, with maintenance previously limited to minor, ongoing repairs rather than a comprehensive modernization. In response to the incident, the city has initiated inspections of other rooms in the building to ensure the safety of employees and residents.
A major renovation of the city hall is planned to address these structural issues while preserving the building's historical character. The city has confirmed that funds for the project are secured and a contract has been signed. During the renovation period, parts of the municipal administration will be relocated to a different site.
