Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski municipal nursery opens after 20 years

A municipal nursery has been opened in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, the first such facility in the city for two decades. The centre, located in a wing of an elementary school on the Pułanki estate, began operations on 1 July and officially opened to the public on 2 July.

The nursery provides 120 places for children aged 7 months to 3 years; at launch 50 spots were already filled. It operates from 06:00 to 18:00, offers free tuition with parents only paying for meals, and includes on‑site health support from a dietitian, a nurse and a midwife. Fourteen staff members are employed. Funding of 8.5 million PLN came from the national “Maluch Plus” program under the National Reconstruction Plan, with the regional allocation covering 88 million PLN. Local officials highlighted the centre’s role in supporting young families and enabling parents to return to work.
