Ostuni homicide investigation launched after body of 34-year-old found

Authorities in Ostuni have launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of 34-year-old Antonio Nisi's body near Piazza della Libertà at dawn. Nisi, who worked as a gardener, was found by local residents who immediately alerted emergency services.

Preliminary medical examinations conducted by forensic doctor Domenico Urso reportedly identified a gunshot wound in the arm area. Investigators from the Carabinieri and firefighters have conducted searches in the vicinity, including an uninhabited house on Via Tenente Spechia, to gather evidence.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the seizure of the body, which has been transferred to the Ostuni cemetery for further procedures. Police are currently reviewing surveillance camera footage and interviewing friends and relatives to reconstruct the victim's final hours and determine the circumstances of his death.
