Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke Criticized by Muslim Rights Group Ahead of 2026 Election
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) issued a statement urging Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to begin vacating Government House, saying the state's residents have rejected his leadership as the 2026 governorship election approaches. The group's Executive Director, Professor Isiaq Akintola, cited the recently commissioned Osogbo flyover, which reportedly developed defects three weeks after inauguration, as evidence of poor performance. He also accused Adeleke of favouring his hometown of Ede, mismanaging local government affairs, and allowing examination malpractice.
MURIC warned that the governor had “crossed the Rubicon” and predicted a decisive defeat in the August 15, 2026, election, urging him to “start packing his dancing kits out of Oke‑Fia Government House before it is too late.”
